How can we help you?
How does one join bricc?
At this stage, one may request an invite to join and share details about their firm, professional profile, and background for our internal committee for review. However, the primary mechanism for joining bricc is through an invitation from an existing member of the network.
Where is bricc in its development?
We are currently in the initial stages of development, where invited users can register for bricc before features launch.
Is bricc GDPR and CCPA compliant?
Yes, we adhere to both GDPR and CCPA standards. More information about our Privacy Policy can be found here.
What makes bricc different from other professional networks?
There are two core features that differentiate bricc from other professional networks. First, we are exclusive, both to the alternative asset management industry and in terms of who may be invited to join the network. Only individuals who are recommended by their colleagues may be invited to join. Second, we focus on providing the context and information required to build meaningful relationships efficiently – we are not a social network, but rather a tool to plug into your existing workflows for managing personal relationships.
What is a "trusted path" on bricc?
We define a "trusted path" as a set of network recommendations that link one individual to another, where all of the network connections are verified and recommended individuals. The concept of a “trusted path” is different from a set of network connections, where the strength of a connection between individuals is ambiguous. This is best illustrated with an example.
Consider three professionals working at three different firms: Ash, Bentley, and Cameron. It’s one matter to have a second-degree connection, where Ash is connected to Cameron because they happen to both know Bentley. All else being equal, this set of relationships reveals nothing notable about the relationship between Ash and Cameron, or between Bentley and the other two, and the likelihood of Ash and Cameron forming a fruitful business relationship is very low since it’s unclear what common ground they share.
However, a “trusted path” would manifest as Ash having a working relationship with Bentley, and Bentley recommending Cameron as an experienced professional to Ash. This is a “trusted path” between Ash to Cameron, because Ash knows Bentley through their profession, and Bentley would publicly recommend Cameron to Ash. As such, Cameron’s credibility is verified in a way that a two-dimensional curriculum vitae could not capture, and a warm relationship can be established between Ash and Cameron much more quickly.
Every professional in this industry has trusted relationships – colleagues and professionals that are relied on for warm introductions, recommendations, and their high-quality expertise. However, identifying a network of “trusted paths” that connect these relationships together is difficult. By illuminating these trusted relationships between professionals in our industry, we can provide our users with efficient ways to build new trusted relationships, expand one’s network in a productive way, and find new business opportunities with other top professionals.
By making trusted paths between users clear, we help professionals in the alternative asset management industry quickly use their existing trusted relationships to further their professions.
